Speed Wiring

Let your fingers do the work!!

Wires, IC's and Logic! If you have what it takes to tinker around with IC's and create tech wonders, then join us in speed wiring! Speed Wiring is a two-level event with circuits as the main flavor and designing as its complementary spice. It requires the participants to design various circuits for given problems. However, the levels of these problems are so kept so that students from any year with a background in engineering may try their hand at this event.

Team Details

  • All students to be eligible for this competition.
  • A team of maximum 3 members is allowed.
  • Prerequisites for this competition include concepts related to Circuit Analysis , Digital Logic Design (DLD) and Basic Electronics.

Problem

In this competition, a circuit diagram will be provided to the participants, and they will have to implement it on the breadboard. The team which completes the given task correctly in the shortest time period wins.

Guidelines and Rules

  • If other sources are used for help, it will lead to team disqualification.
  • Conversation and sharing of any material between teams may lead to both teams disqualification.
  • Hardware used will be provided to the participants.
  • Datasheets for the devices will be provided.

Robotics

Robots in action future in present!!

In this module multiple tasks will be given to the participants in different rounds and they have to complete it within a time limit provided by the organizers. This competition will test your task completion, logical, programming, and designing skills. And you will be marked accordingly. This module will also polish your skills for solving problems in real time scenarios.

Team Details

  • Only undergraduate students are eligible for this competition.
  • A team of maximum 4 members is allowed.

Problem

Different line tracks will be given to complete it in given time.

Hardware & Software

  • The Microcontrollers Atmel AT89C51, PIC16F877, Arduino mega and Uno, AVR will be allowed.
  • Equipment’s will not be provided by the university.
  • Line sensors i.e. IR sensors will be allowed.

Guidelines and Rules

There will be a White line on blue background and the line will be 3cm wide.
  • Starting and ending point of the track will be same. The robot must pass through the check points (A, B, C) in any sequence and return back to the starting point.
  • Omitting any of the one check points will lead to deduction of 33% points. Omitting two points will lead to disqualification. The team with most scores in the shortest time will proceed to the second round.
  • There is a knock out competition of a parallel robots race in which two robots will compete against each other. Two robots will start off at the same time on the track and the one reaching the finish line will be winner. The dimensions of the track are shown in figure.
  • The robot should fit in a box of 30*30*30 cm and the bigger robots will be disqualified.
  • Robot that can damage the track in any sense will be disqualified. There is no limit on the voltage of batteries but the power source must be attached to the robot and the operator cannot touch the robot once it has been started. Only dry batteries can be used.
  • Only 3 consecutive retries in the first round are allowed. There is no retry in the knockout rounds
  • In the first round, the teams will be shortlisted on the basis of their individual track completion time and from the next round knockout competitions start.
  • The judge’s decision will be considered final.
  • Using unfair means, violation of rules, creating disturbance, or showing non-serious attitude will lead to team disqualification.
  • Modification in the rules will be notified to the teams prior the competition.
